Dr. Rosner has performed hundreds of minimally invasive nasal surgeries to repair the deviated nasal septum of patients and to make turbinates smaller. These surgeries can be done in the office or our surgery center. There is typically no packing or splints. This allows for minimal pain and a quick recovery.
Turbinates are made smaller with a micro-debrider. The posterior or back of the turbinate (mulberry turbinate) is made smaller. This makes the result better, and often relieves the annoying sensation of ear fullness. In the front of the turbinate, a small puncture incision is made, and the turbinate is made smaller with the micro-debrider. This is similar to liposuction.
