Also known as sinusitis, a sinus infection occurs when the tissue lining your sinuses becomes inflamed. This is often the result of viral infections, bacteria or allergies and can cause facial pressure, congestion and other uncomfortable symptoms. If you’re concerned that you may have a sinus infection, our team is here to help you find relief.
A sinus infection can be acute or chronic. Acute cases are often caused by the common cold and last for less than a week, while chronic cases last about 12 weeks and are frequently the result of bacteria.
Symptoms of sinusitis include:
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Mucus dripping down your throat, also known as postnasal drip
- Pressure in your face and ears
- Bad breath
- Cough
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Fever
