Using Medicines Correctly
I often see patients who use medicines incorrectly. Common examples are:
- For nasal sprays spray them to the outside wall of the nose toward the pupil on the same side. Do not sniff after spaying the nose.
- When taking Prilosec or omeprazole, take it on an empty stomach (no food for 2 hours) then eat 30 minutes later.
- Any time you obtain a new medicine speak to the pharmacist and ask how to take the medication and ask about any important things to look for.
First Aid for a Nosebleed
Place Afrin nose spray on a cotton ball. Place it in the nose. Pinch and hold for 15 minutes. Try and remain calm, as higher heart rates have more bleeding.

Why Is It Important To Look at X-rays?
Dr Rosner looks at the ct scans he orders. Matching the patient’s symptoms and findings on physical exam, while reviewing x-rays can improve diagnostic accuracy. This can help improve the report from the radiologist. If you have radiology that Dr Rosner did not order, try and bring a disk or make sure the doctor has ability to see the images.
